Donna Gholson Cook was born in San Angelo, Texas, and grew up in Kerrville, riding horses and reading westerns. Her Texas roots go back for six generations, and her love of Texas history was fueled by stories about her great-grandfather, one of the first Texas Rangers. Donna is a member of the Texas State Historical Association, the National Association for Outlaw and Lawman History, Western Writers of America and other organizations.
